Abu Ramadan withdraws suit against electoral commission

Former National Organiser of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Abu Ramadan has withdrawn a suit he filed against the electoral commission over the voters’ register.

Abu Ramadan and one other want the Supreme Court to nullify the 2012 national voters’ register and to compel the Electoral Commission (EC) to compile a new one.

They contend that the current register contains names of unqualified persons which is inconsistent with the constitution.

However, their lawyer, Nana Asante Bediako was today granted a plea by the court to withdraw the writ and re-file at a later date with new details.
