Nana Akufo-Addo, flag bearer of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), has not left for the UK as purported in a statement circulating on social media, his press secretary Eugene Arhin has said.
“Please ignore any statement purportedly signed by me saying Nana Akufo-Addo has left for the UK and will return to Ghana on the 25th of September. It’s fake, as usual. Thanks,” Mr Arhin said.

The presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has, in the early hours of today, September 9, 2016, left the shores of Ghana for the United Kingdom.
Whilst in the UK, Nana Akufo-Addo is scheduled to hold a birthday party for his nephew. He will also meet with the UK branch of the party to jaw jaw on positive strategies that will aid in the prosecution of an effective campaign in the upcoming December 7 2016 elections.
Nana Akufo-Addo is expected back to Ghana on Sunday, September 25 2016.
