The Member of Parliament for Efutu, Alexander Afenyo-Markin has challenged the President, to appoint a substantive Minister of Power if, he is committed to solving the power crisis in the country.
The MP, noted that, the absence of a Minister responsible for the Power Ministry created by him, to deal with the crisis, is creating more harm than good, to the people who depend heavily on energy, for their day-to-day businesses.
The Power Minister and a Member of Cabinet, Dr. Kobena Donkor, resigned about six months ago, as a result of his alleged, inability to end the over two year old, blackout, under this Administration.
Since his unprecedented departure from Government, the President is yet to find a replacement.
However, the current Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Seth Tekpeh, has been acting, a situation, Mr. Afenyo Markin, described as, a disappointment, when it comes to the number of Cabinet Ministers sent to Parliament, by the President.
In an interview with XYZ News, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, maintained that, if nothing is done within the shortest possible time, the current light-off being experienced in some parts of the country, will move from bad to worse.
