The Ashaiman Divisional Police Command in a special operation last night, busted a notorious fifty year old drug peddler, and his accomplice, a thirty four year old Driver’s Mate, within The Municipality.
The two, whose names were given as David Larweh, popularly known as Ogboro and David Tetteh, are currently in the grips of The Ashaiman Police assisting with investigations.
The Police, in a special swoop, ransacked the premises, upon a tip off, to rid the area of drug peddling. “I Shall Return” a popular wee joint, within The Municipality, has become a breeding ground for stealing and other social vices.
Briefing the media, The Tema Regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Juliana Obeng, said, a search conducted at the premises, revealed 11 slabs of compressed dried leaves, believed to be Indian hemp, together with some alcoholic beverages. Other items found, were eight pairs of scissors, six knives, three lighters and a cutlass. She stressed that, an amount of seven hundred and seventy six Ghana Cedis in coins and notes were also retrieved.
According to The Police PRO, the culprits David Laweh also known as Ogboro and David Tetteh, have been in that illegal business for a long time. Meanwhile, the structure has been demolished, to help curb the menace of drug-peddling, in the area.
