“Didier Drogba is shocked and speechless by allegations of the daily mail” says associate, Miss Mimi Fawaz. The British newspaper claims that just £14, 115 out of the £1.7m donated to the Didier Drogba foundation was used to help causes in Africa. This has led to investigations by the Charity Commission over “serious regulatory concerns”.

Although, Drogba, 38, has welcomed the investigations, amidst threatening legal action against the daily mail’s story, the former Chelsea striker released in a statement that “there is no fraud, no corruptions and no lies”.
In an exclusive interview with Yaw Ampofo Ankrah of Radio XYZ, Miss Fawaz revealed that Drogba is astonished about this developing issue.

“In terms of how Didier Drogba is personally handling this, he is speechless and shocked by allegations of the Daily Mail Newspaper” she said.

“He has always been passionate about giving back to the Ivory Coast and as well to Africa. Helping out with charitable organizations and to be a great role model for fellow African players who have launched charities as well and bringing attention to try and help their communities. Drogba has really been at the forefront of that” she added.
The Didier Drogba Foundation was launched in the UK in 2009 when the ex- Ivory Coast captain was playing for Chelsea FC.
