Cruiserweight boxer Braimah Kamoko will be arraigned before court today March 16, 2016, on assault-related charges.
Kamoko, more popularly referred to as Bukom Banku, was arrested by police Tuesday March 15, 2016 following a complaint of assault lodged against him at the Accra Central Police Station by three ladies.
Accra Police PRO Afia Tengey, who spoke with Class Sports’ Desmond Decker Wednesday March 16, said processes were underway for court allocation for Banku’s trial.
ASP Tengey explained that the boxer was arrested after a medical examination of the complainants confirmed there had been an assault on each of them.
She dismissed claims that the police would bungle Banku’s prosecution because of his cult status. “After investigations, whatever thing we have been able to gather, every evidential material, we put them before court. And it’s the court that decides,” she insisted.
