CAF Conf Cup: Medeama Confident Of A Win

Coach of Medeama sporting club Prince Owusu has expressed confidence his team will pick the maximum three points in Wednesday’s CAF Confederations Cup game against Algeria’s MO Bejaia at the Essipong sports stadium.

The Ghanaian FA Cup champions are desperate for a win to ensure they remain in the race for the knock-out stages after having lost 3-1 to last year’s CAF Champions League champions, TP Mazembe in their first group match.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of the game, Coach Owusu said: “My guys know what time it is right now, we need to go in for the victory. We learnt TP Mazembe has won the game and that is good for us; that is what we wanted, so we have to do our part well to make sure we win today”.

Medeama sit at the bottom of the log table with zero points and a win will revive their hopes of moving up the log table.

However, facing Bejaia, who are high in confidence having beaten Tanzania’s Young Africans 1-0 in their first match, is set to be a challenge.

Bejaia occupy the second spot behind TP Mazembe and a win will take them to six points while Medeama will be hoping to win their first three points in the competition.
