Over 12,000 delegates have cast their vote to elect a Parliamentary Candidate for the NDC, in the Chiana Paga Constituency, in the Upper East Region.
The Party suspended the election earlier because of delays in receiving election materials from The National Secretariat.
The primaries delayed due to a protracted case, against the incumbent Member of Parliament, Abuga Pele. His contenders are challenging his eligibility to contest the parliamentary primaries while standing trial in the Ghana National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP) scandal.
Speaking to XYZ News, NDC Communications Officer for Chiana-Paga, Donald Tuumyeridam says, the election has been peaceful so far.
But speaking to our correspondent in the Upper East Region earlier, the election seems to have recorded a very low turnout.
