Ghanaian journalist and TV host, Israel Laryea took to his social media to celebrate the late Danny Nettey.
Posing in front of a poster celebrating the life of Danny Nettey, Mr. Laryea tried to match the late singer’s iconic smile. According to the journalist, he had interacted with the musician on “few” occasions and found the latter had a “warm spirit”.
He posted the photos on social media with the caption;
“Yes, I flashed a smile, trying to match Danny’s smile. But he did it better.
I knew him and felt good knowing I could call such a dude, a colleague.
The few times we interacted, I was comfortable with his warm spirit.
Yes, he’s gone too soon, but made a positive impact before his calling. I pray I make an impact too before I’m called, so help me God.”
Israel Laryea was also joined by Nhyira Addo and popular Ghanaian photographer Nana Kofi Acquah.
Danny Nettey, who is also referred to as the “father of contemporary gospel music” in Ghana, passed away on Friday, 15th July 2016. His death came as a shock to many who couldn’t the otherwise fit and healthy musician had passed away.
