Dauda: Hearts Focused On Race For GPL Title

Accra Hearts of Oak striker Cosmos Dauda has said his team is focused on winning the Ghana Premier League (GPL) and the loss against Kotoko will in no way affect them going into their Week 18 encounter against Aduana Stars.

Hearts on Friday, 1 July failed to defend the President’s Cup after losing 3-2 on penalties to Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

The former Mighty Jets goal poacher, who joined the Phobians at the start of the season, speaking to Class Sports, said their defeat against Kotoko will not affect their GPL performances in anyway.

“I don’t think it is going to affect anything. We are on course and still going, it is just a game and sometimes you win, sometimes you lose,” he said. …Anyway, beating Kotoko can be an extra motivation [but] Kotoko is just a team like any other team and when we lose against them, it’s like losing against any other team.”

The Phobians currently occupy the third position on the league log with 30 points and will play Aduana Stars in their next game at the Accra Sports Stadium.
