DKM Saga: Reimbursement Starts Oct

Customers of DKM Microfinance Limited are expected to start receiving their locked deposits from October this year.

In view of this, the Registrar-General, who is the official liquidator, will be meeting the over 60,000 customers at the Sunyani Coronation Park on Tuesday, September 20, to discuss the modalities of the disbursement.

PwC, the firm appointed by the Registrar-General to value the assets of DKM, has finished its job and the assets are supposed to be liquidated to pay back the customers.

DKM was one of several financial institutions whose operations were suspended by the Bank of Ghana in 2015. They were cited for flouting the rules and regulations guiding the operations of companies in the sector.

The customers have been livid and have held several protests and demonstrations with a call on government to help them retrieve their investments.
