Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South Samuel Atta Akyea has denied assertions purported to be made by him on an Accra based radio station that the death of his colleague MP Joseph Boakye Danquah, although sad, could be a sign of good things to happen to the New Patriotic Party in the November polls.
Atta Kyea in an exclusive interview with radio xyz news said he never made such comments and it was a deliberate attempt by his detractors to malign him.
“I never said that. I am not such a low cost individual that whenever a whole family is mourning over the death of a prominent member and NPP is mourning, I would come out with such a fictitious statement. I never said that” Atta Kyea reiterated.
According to Atta Kyea, people are trying to put an evil spin on what does not exist.
Atta Kyea indicated that the question posed to him was whether the death of JB Danquah will affect the fortunes of NPP in the area and his response was that he would not lie that the death of the Abuakwa North MP will hurt the party, but the party has the resilience and will bounce back and that the party will put itself together and win.
Atta Kyea says he does not understand why people will misconstrue what he said
“Are we going to use human blood to vote or what kind of occultic statement is this? It doesn’t make sense” he fumed.
He warned whoever is behind this mischief to be weary because it would not help anyone.
