Dramatic rise in global execution – Amnesty International

Amnesty International’s 2015 Global Death Sentences and Executions Report indicates that, at least 1,634 people were executed in 2015, the highest number since 1989 on the use of the Death Penalty. Iran, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are countries with the highest, when it comes to death sentences.

Speaking at the launch of The Global Report on Death Sentences And Executions 2015, Director of Amnesty International, Ghana, Lawrence Amesu, said, there is no evidence whatsoever, that death penalty is a deterrent to crime than any other forms of punishment.
