Ernest Norgbey Pledges Unflinching Support To The Zongo Community In Ashaiman

The National Democratic Congress Parliamentary Candidate for The Ashaiman Constituency Ernest Henry Norgbey, has promised that his support for the Muslim Community in Ashaiman, will continue.

Without mincing words, The Parliamentary Hopeful, stressed that, he has always endeared himself to Muslims and vice-versa within The Community, hence, his unflinching support towards their developmental needs, adding that, his likeness for Muslims in general, compelled his competitors to  label him as such.

This he said, became an active campaign tool for his opponents to use against his candidature in the heat of their Constituency Primary, which saw him unseating The Deputy Majority Leader And Member Of Parliament for the area, Lawyer Alfred Kwami Agbesi, who was seeking his fourth consecutive bid to lead The National Democratic Congress Campaign, within the constituency.

According to him, the impression was to create an erroneous perception about Muslims of gaining notoriety, hence, the need to reject his candidature.

The soft-spoken Parliamentary Aspirant, was thankful to the Muslim Community for the trust reposed in him.

Speaking in an interview with XYZ News,Mr. Norgbey, admonished the Muslim Community to position themselves well to benefit more under the Mahama-led administration and a possible future NDC Government in 2017.

Advancing his argument, he said, The NDC Government has been and will continue to be a close ally to the Muslim Community than The New Patriotic Party. He mentioned the statutory declaration of the two festive seasons on The Islamic calendar to be public holidays to butress his claims.

The new entrant into Ashaiman politics, again advised the Muslim youth not to allow themselves to be used by any politician to foment troubles before, during and after the December polls.
