Famous Ghanaian Men Running For MP In Nov 2016

When some of these men declared their intention to run for members of parliament, it came as a shock. For others, it was completely expected and now, the anticipation of who will come out victorious is building.

Here are 5 aspirants, who became famous in their various fields of endeavour and are now contesting under the tickets of the two biggest parties in the country.

National Democratic Congress (NDC)



Sam Kwesi Fletcher is the Head of Cooperate Communications at the Volta River Authority (VRA) and he is contesting for the Gomoa West constituency seat on the ticket of the governing National Democratic Congress.



Ghanaian actor and comedian Kwame Dzokoto who said he initially had no intention of contesting has been elected as the parliamentary candidate on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress for the Tarkwa Nsuaem constituency.



Communication professional and former host of Sunrise on TV3, Eric Don-Arthur, under the NDC will be contesting for the Effutu constituency. Don-Arthur says he has revolutionary ideas that will transform his constituency into a better place for its inhabitants.

New Patriotic Party (NPP)



A leading member of Pressure Group Occupy Ghana and former chief marketing officer at MTN, George Andah will be the New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary candidate for the November elections. He will be contesting for the Awutu Senya West seat with his main opponent being Hannah Tetteh.



Former broadcaster, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah is running for the Ofoase Ayirebi seat for the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He said his belief in the NPP’s liberal democratic ideology pushed him to join the party.
