A winner between Congo and Egypt will take early charge in group E following a stalemate between Uganda and Ghana in Tamale on Friday.
The two clash on Sunday with the Egyptians, two-time World Cup finalists playing away at Kintele stadium.
If pedigree is anything to go by, The Pharaohs go into the game as favourites but must be wary of the threat posed by the Red Devils at home.
The visitors have top class players with Mohamed Salah the most singled out but Congo’s Pierre Lechantre says his players will not be solely concentrating on the AS Roma man.
“I told my players that they will face a world-class player who plays at a very high speed,” he started in a pre-match conference as quoted by ahramsports.
“We know his capabilities and we are working on that issue,” he added.
“Salah is one of the best players in Europe, but we will not concentrate only on him. Our team has great potential that will appear in the match.
Lechantre made it clear his team has no injury worries and warned that not more than two changes will be made from the side that played Guinea Bissau in the 2017 AFCON qualifiers.
