GFA Boss Sues Songo, Abatay For Defamation

The President of Ghana Football Association Kwesi Nyantakyi has sued controversial sports presenter Patrick Osei Agyeman, popularly known as ‘Countryman Songo’ and Kofi Asare Brako, also known as Abatay, for defamation.

Mr. Nyantakyi also added the Multimedia Group limited to the $2 million suit.

According to the suit, the two sports presenters used a radio platform under the Multimedia Group – Asempa FM – to malign the person of Mr. Nyantakyi without any basis.

The GFA boss according to the suit, has obtained over 100 audio recordings, dating back as far as 2012, of the two presenters slandering his person and accusing him of corruption.

One of the accused, Abatay, has however left the Multimedia staple for Atinka FM.

Mr. Nyantakyi’s case is being led in court by Mr. Thaddeus Sory.

The development comes in the wake of the jailing of a radio host and two panelists by the Supreme Court for contempt.
