Ghana vs Uganda: Cranes No. 1 Goalie Onyango Starts Training

Uganda have been handed a massive boost ahead of their 2018 World Cup qualifier against Ghana after goalkeeper Dennis Onyango returned to training on Wednesday.

The Mamelodi Sundowns shot-stopper is not only a team leader, a good game reader but also excellent at thwarting one against one situation and very strong in the air.

One memorable match for him was that slim 1-0 away victory for Uganda Cranes against Togo Hawks in Kegue.

Onyango starred in the game with great stops and outstanding displays including the save for Togo’s second half penalty.

Having missed the international build up on Tuesday against the same opposition, Onyango returned to normal training with the rest of the players.

During the build up, Onyango had been rested after he arrived in Lome hours to the match.
El Merriekh goalkeeper Salim Jamal started the game ahead of Benjamin Ochan who was an unused substitute.

The team leaves Lome on Thursday morning for Tamale via Accra ahead of the Friday clash.
