GPL: Kotoko silence Hearts

Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Soulama Abdoulaye’s howler saw Asante Kotoko maintain their impressive away record at the Accra Sports Stadium with a 1-0 win over Hearts of Oak on Monday.

The Burkinabe goalie could not control a back pass from Richard Akrofi which saw the ball crawl into the net as he was left disappointed.

The goal was the difference in the first half and Asante Kotoko certainly began the half with purpose but Ernest Sowah pulled off two smart saves from Cosmos Dauda and Isaac Mensah to keep the Porcupines in the lead.

Kotoko maintained their composure until the blast of the final whistle by referee Awal Mohammed.

The win moves Kotoko up on the League table to 8th with 14 points.
