I don’t care about Ghana’s register says Togo opposition leader

The opposition leader in Togo Jean-Pierre Fabre has said he knows nothing and careless about Ghana’s voters register.

He says he only cares about the register in Togo which is “very bad”.

The comments by the leader of the Alliance Nationale pour le Changement (ANC) comes on the back of claims by his supposed special adviser Masseme Esse that the ANC was “bemused” by reports that the Togolese Electoral Commission declined to provide its counterpart in Ghana with a copy of its register for verification of the soft copy of the register used by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in its analysis to back calls for a new voters register.

Mr. Fabre said he has not directed anybody to speak on his behalf on the matter regarding Ghana’s register.

“I don’t know anything about Ghana’s register, I only care about the register in Togo which is very bad.

“He (Masseme Esse) says he is my special adviser, I know this guy but he is not my special adviser, he is not a member of my party, he does not hold our party card, he cannot speak for me and nobody has asked him to say the things he said”.

There is controversy over Ghana’s register as the electoral commission has rejected persistent calls by the main opposition New Patriotic Party for a new electoral roll ahead of the number polls.
