Nigerian recording artist and performer, Iyanya has joined record label, Mavin Records, after months of speculation about his future.
Don Jazzy, the Nigerian recording artist and record producer who founded Mavin Records, announced on Twitter on Monday October 31, 2016:
“Iyanya brings his own unique style and sound to the Mavin Records family.
“From the first time I stepped into the studio with him, there was an instant chemistry and energy. He is an amazing talent and he has great musical versatility. This is an exciting time for us and our fans have a lot of great music to look forward to.”
Confirming the news to Naa Ashorkor on the Zone, Iyanya said:
“It is the greatest thing for me and it’s a blessing to be part of the Mavin family, when I left my former label I wanted to move to the next level and I saw myself achieving greater heights with the Mavins and I can’t wait for the world to hear more stuff…There is a lot coming through”.
Iyanya was previously signed on with Ubi Franklin’s Made Men Records.
Up until his exit from the label early in the year, Iyanya was the biggest artiste on the platform. Franklin has since found a replacement in Teckno who is responsible for the hit, Pana.
With this new move, Iyanya joins other artistes on the record label including Tiwa Savage, Dr. Sid, D’Prince, Korede Bello, Reekado Banks and Di’Ja.
