The body of the late Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North, J.B. Danquah-Adu, will be laid in state today, April 15, 2016, at 6:30 am at the forecourt of the State House.
President John Mahama and other state officials, as well as opposition leader Nana Addo Dankkwa Akufo-Addo, among others, are expected to be present to pay their last respects.
The family spokesman said after the ceremony at the State House, the late MP’s remains would be conveyed to Kyebi Adadientem in the Eastern Region, where his father was chief, for filing past.
Mr Amoah disclosed that following that the body will be taken to Akyem Tafo at 5pm Friday, where the funeral service will be held prior to interment on Saturday April 16, 2016.
The MP died on February 9, 2016, when he was stabbed to death at his residence at Shiashie in Accra allegedly by 19-year-old Daniel Asiedu. He was 50.
