Lawyer for the 19-year-old teenager accused of murdering the New Patriotic Party MP for Abuakwa North has said his client is mentally unstable.
He is therefore calling on the court hearing the murder charge against him to order for him to undergo a psychological checkup.
Lawyer Augustine Obour told the court Tuesday that his interaction with Daniel Asiedu suggests that he is unwell mentally. Obour also raised concerns with the kind of treatment being meted out to his client at the BNI cell, where he is being kept.
The judge however dismissed the request after he personally engaged the accused in a brief conversation. The case has been adjourned to March 14.
Asiedu has confessed to killing the MP Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu at his home in Accra on February 9.
