The Institute of Economic Affairs, (IEA,) has appointed a Former First Vice- President of The International Criminal Court of Justice, Professor Akua Kuenyehia, as Chairperson, to oversee The Ten-Member Committee, in charge of The Presidential And Vice-Presidential Debates.
The Committee also includes some Senior Members of the Clergy, to further help improve the debate. Speaking, at the launch, a Senior Fellow, at The Institute, Prof. Joseph Atsu Aryee, believes that, the debate will enable political campaigns to move away from acrimony and insults to issue based.
As part of its efforts to promote peaceful and violence-free election, the Institute, will organize two Presidential Debates for Flag-bearers of Political Parties, with representation in Parliament, and their Running Mates.
Professor Kuenyehia pledged to support, to work hand-in-hands with the Committee members, for fruitful debates.
A member of The Committee, and Head of The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Ghana, Maulvi Dr. Muhammad Bin Salih, envisaged that, The Committee will deliver, to the course of humanity.
