After months of legal tussles involving bribery and corruption allegations as well as protests against player eligibility, the 2015/ 2016 Ghana premier league commenced this weekend.

Herbert Addo masterminded a 2-0 win for Inter Allies against his former club, Aduana Stars. Ropapa Mensah and Isaac Twum getting the goals for the Tema based side. Wa All-Stars moved to the top of the league following a 3-0 win over Sekondi Hasaacas. A brace from Maxwell Baako and a further strike from Richard Arthur handed Wa All-Stars the victory. Issaka Ibrahim scored against his former club as promoted side, Techiman city shocked Berekum Chelsea 1-0 in a regional derby at the Nana Ameyaw Park.
Premier league returnees, Abusua Dwarfs fell by the same score to debutants, Dreams FC at the Robert Mensah Stadium. Johnson Owusu giving Dreams FC a dream start. Bechem United earned maximum points in a 2-0 victory over Liberty Professionals. Francis Afriyie and Yaw Andoh notched the goals for Bechem United.
