Ketu North NDC Eyes 50k Votes For Mahama

The executives of the Ketu North constituency branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Volta region have vowed to maximize votes for both President John Mahama and the parliamentary candidate of the constituency James Klutse Avedzi.

The constituency chairman H.M Azaglo made this known at the inauguration of the 2016 campaign task force of the Ketu North constituency at Dzodze over the weekend.

According to him, the party intends to increase the margins in the presidential elections from 37,761 in 2012 to 50,000 votes at this year’s elections.

He indicated the NPP parliamentary candidate Mr. Kofi Dzamesi has devised “a strategy of lies to deceive electorate in the constituency to vote for the NPP.”

He accused Mr Dzamesi of allegedly distributing Gh¢5 each to the electorate, a move he explained was “disrespectful and insulting to the people of the constituency.”

The MP for Ketu North used the occasion to thank those who contested him during the primaries, but are currently playing lead roles in the campaign for the party in the constituency.

Mr. Avedzi took a swipe at the NPP vice presidential candidate Dr Mahamudu Bawumia by questioning his economics credentials after Dr Bawumia delivered a paper on the state of the economy recently.

He charged members of the party to come out in their numbers and vote massively for the NDC and Mahama.

Present at the function were deputy Tourism Minister Dzifa Gomashie, Dr Ahiawordor, Joseph Amenorwode, Kofi Lawson, James Gunu and a host of party members.
