KMA Fails To Elect Presiding Member Again

Members of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly have once again failed to elect a Presiding Member after the two aspirants failed to poll the required votes needed to take up the position.

After elections on Tuesday, Mr. Abraham Boadi polled 69 votes while Mr. Michael Adusei Bonsu had 50 votes.

Reports indicated that the two aspirants are currently in a consultation process to prevail upon one candidate to step down for the other candidate to contest unopposed.

This is the seventh time the Assembly has failed to elect a Presiding Member to oversee the developments of the Kumasi Metropolis.

Residents have expressed concern that the inability to elect a Presiding Member is affecting developments in Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital.

Kumasi is also without a Mayor after Kojo Bonsu resigned in July this year.
