Lawyer Akyea Threatens: Public Relations Officer Of Ghana Gas Company To Face Contempt Charges

Counsel for The Former Director-General Of The Ghana Ports And Harbours’ Authority, Lawyer Samuel Atta Kyea, is threatening to sue The Former Editor-In-Chief of Gye Nyame Concord Newspaper, and now The Public Relations Officer For Ghana Gas Company, Alfred Ogbami, for violating the orders of The Court.
According to Lawyer Atta Kyea, his client, Ben Owusu Mensah, was maligned by Alfred Ogbami, through one of his Newspaper Publications. He stressed that, although the conduct of the defendant is liable for contempt, they are yet to file a suit against him, for showing professional lapses, of what he is expected to do.
XYZ News Court Correspondent, Ibrahim Obeng-Mensah, report that, the said publication, was said to have accused Ben Owusu-Mensah, The Former Director-General Of The Ghana Ports And Harbours’ Authority, of awarding a Contract to a Foreign Company.
The Publication according to our source, made further emphatic statement that, the plaintiff, over-priced the said Contract, at the expense of The State, together with a team of accomplices.
The Lead Counsel for the plaintiff, Lawyer Samuel Atta Kyea, said, The Defendant pleaded for an out of Court Settlement, and has since failed to heed to the Orders of The Court hence a possible Contempt Suit, against the defendant for reneging on his own words.
Counsel for the plaintiff, again stated that, his clients is appalled, by the continuous neglect of Mr. Ogbami’s own solemn undertaking he signed at The Court.
