MELCOM CARE SUPPORTS KORLE-BU TEACHING HOSPITAL, KNUST MEDICAL STUDENTS AND OTHERS.

Melcom Care, The Philanthropic Arm of Melcom Group of Companies, has donated some items worth several thousand of Cedis with some educational materials to some Institutions and individuals as part of its Monthly Corporate Social Responsibility Donations.

Speaking at a ceremony to present the items, The Director of Communications for Melcom Group Of Companies, Godwin Avenorgbo said, Melcom Care provides support for genuine causes that would have otherwise gone unnoticed, and unattended to.

The Director of Communications for Melcom Group Of  Companies, indicated that their Corporate Social Responsibility to the community is a duty that must be done and not a favour.  “Melcom care pledges to be consistent with the goal of meeting targeted Corporate social responsibility needs of people because we are a people centered organization providing services and meeting daily basic needs of our cherished customers.

What we do for CSR at Melcom is not a favour but a duty that must be seen to be done.” He said, the monthly donation is to meet the needs of people. Korle~Bu Teaching Hospital Trust Fund was presented with five thousand (5,000) Cedis.

A medical  student of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Victoria Marfowaa Adom-Afrifa received one thousand US dollars to enable her undertake her 5th year Medical School Elective Exchange Programme in Germany.

Elivava Foundation, which is assisting pupils in primary schools by providing educational materials for them, was also presented with exercise books and stationery to support her project.

Miss Earth Organization, which is currently hosting Miss Earth from Ghana, India, Fiji, Kenya, Zimbabwe and Trinidad and Tobago, received sanitation materials to support an Environmental Awareness Project they are embarking on. Beneficiaries were grateful to Melcom Care for the support.
