The governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) is targeting 60 per cent of the votes and 25 parliamentary seats in Greater Accra as it kicks off its campaign in the region.
“It will be a lie to say you are going to win all the seats… We are winning 60% of the total votes in Greater Accra, then we will give out 40% to other parties,” the regional Communications Officer of the NDC, Jerry Johnson, said in the build-up to the launch on Sunday September 11.
Ahead of the December 7 polls, the NDC has divided the regions into three zones as part of its campaign strategy.
Sunday’s launch is intended for the first zone, which covers the eastern parts of the region: Ada Sege, Ningo Prampram, Shai Osudoku, Kpone Katamanso, Tema East, Tema West and Tema Central constituencies.
Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur is expected to be the guest of honour at the event.
