The governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) is expected to launch its manifesto on Saturday September 17, for the 2016 general election..
According to a statement signed by the spokesperson for NDC’s 2016 campaign team today [Monday], Mrs Joyce Bawah Mogtari, the event will be held at Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo Region.
The launch, the statement indicated, will be preceded by a presentation of the highlights of the manifesto by President John Dramani Mahama on Tuesday September 13, 2016.
It said the presentation of the highlights, which will be held at the State Banquet Hall, State House, Accra at 7:00pm, is intended to give the public an insight into the focus areas of the 2016 NDC Manifesto.
“The event, arranged as a prelude to the main launch of the Manifesto on Saturday September 17, in Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo Region will also be attended by representatives of International Organisations, the Diplomatic Corps, Business Associations and Youth Groups.
“With the ‘Green Book’ effectively outlining the key policies we have implemented and the projects arising out of these policies, President Mahama will use the occasion to explain his vision for the next four years, and provide details of the key interventions he will be implementing in his second term,” the statement added.
We’ll first release highlights of NDC manifesto
The NDC Campaign Coordinator, Kofi Adams, last week on an interview said the party will first release the manifesto highlights before publishing the full document.
“The NDC decided that for highlights of the manifesto we could do it in a week day, considering the fact that all these activities are being occupied with one major event or the other. Let His Excellency the President and Vice President lead the process in doing the highlights of our manifesto which has long been ready,” he added.
