Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South constituency, Samuel Atta Akyea has warned deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, Koku Anyidoho, to respect the Okyenhene, Amoatia Ofori Panin II.
The NDC recently described as “unfortunate” and untrue accusations by the Okyenhene that Akyems are being overlooked in the Mahama administration.
Going further, Deputy NDC General Secretary Koku Anyidoho said the accusations are baseless and do not support the facts on the ground.
Koku Anyidoho mentioned names such as Victor Smith, Appiah Kubi, Ama Frimpong as some indigenes of Akyem who are in the Mahama government.
Atta Kyea says there is nothing wrong with Okyenhene’s comment and for that matter Anyidoho should give him the respect he deserves.
Samuel Atta Kyea also debunked claims by Koku Ayindoho that the people of Akyem are experiencing more development under Mahama than any previous government.
He added that NPP flagbearer Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo did a lot of rural electrification and road projects while MP for Abuakwa South and later when he was the Attorney General.
