Online Portal Launched To Facilitate Students’ Recruitment

A collaborative effort between the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and I-Texon Ghana, a private partner, has led to the launch of the ‘Study in Ghana Online Portal’ at the Ghana High Commission in Abuja, Nigeria.

The ‘Study in Ghana’ Online Portal gives students an opportunity for refined search into institutions which offer programmes in line with their preferences. This makes it easier to search for the right institution within the shortest possible time.

Accredited institutions

A statement issued by the private partner said the Portal also engages only institutions which are accredited by the National Accreditation Board of Ghana – and thereby ensures that visitors to the site would not fall victim to fraudulent middlemen who promote institutions which are not recognised in terms of programmes and certification.

Presently, there are 10 reputable institutions signed onto the Portal with seven more making arrangements in that regard.

According to the statement, the site also offers other services which include transportation from the airport to the student’s preferred hostel, and subsequently to his or her institution. It added that the Portal would contribute greatly to strengthening the existing relationship between the Republic of Nigeria and the Republic of Ghana.

I-Texon Ghana has two basic aims – the first being to support international students with a secure platform for gaining admission to accredited tertiary institutions, and secondly, to support these institutions to meet their targets in terms of international admissions and also improve their classroom dynamics – creating a sustained, vibrant learning environment.

The team also has to its credit the Ghana Higher Education Fair series which is organised annually in Ghana across the 10 regions of the country.
