Parliament eulogizes JB Adu on his last journey home

President John Dramani Mahama and his Vice, Paa Kwasi Amissah Arthur have joined The Speaker Of Parliament, Edward Doe Adjaho, and others to bid farwell to the late, Joseph Kofi Boakye Danquah Adu.
The MP was killed by an unknown person in his own Accra residence, a few months ago. His sudden death came as a shock to all, particularly his colleagues-Members of Parliament and the country at large, because he was hardly heard or seen in any verbal or physical brawl with anybody.
At the Church Service, held at The Forecourt of the State House for filing past by well wishers, hundreds of people from different faiths and Political Parties were amazed as to how the former MP was stabbed to death. Paying tribute to the late J.B. Adu, The Flag Bearer of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo, noted that, the pain of losing J.B Dankwah Adu still lingers in his heart.
“I first met his elder brother Frank, in the late 1980s in the presence of the late Okyehene Osagyefo Kuntunkununku. It was he who, in the early period of Kufour’s rule, introduced me to his younger brother, J.B shortly after that, Abuakwa Constituency, which I represented in Parliament in 1997 and 2001 was divided into two, South and North.J.B, a native of Tafo, decided to go for The Abuakwa North seat and entered Parliament in 2005 as its MP”.
Reading the tribute on behalf of The Speaker, MPs, Parliamentary Service, The Press Corps and the security, the MP for Essikado-Ketan and The Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Joe Ghartey, said, the late J.B. Adu, as affectionately called, has paid his dues.
“JB was a distinguished statesman, who was primarily concerned about nation building .He would forever be remembered, by Parliament and indeed the good people of Ghana, as an agent of change, and development, a purpose driven industrialist, a model legislator, an honest and friendly gentleman, a selfless, who sought to demystify politics, as a do or die affair, a consensus builder, a patriot and a true statesman.
