On Saturday, October 1, 2016 members of the Patriotic Youth Movement teamed up with the Parliamentary Candidate, Mr. Yaw Buabeng Asamoah and the constituency executives of Adentan Constituency for an intensive door-to-door campaign and voter education exercise.
Patriotic Youth Movement is a volunteer group within the New Patriotic Party which supports Parliamentary Candidates and party officials at the constituency level to campaign effectively for victory in the 2016 elections. The group has embarked on projects such as health screening, market visits and street campaign to canvass for votes for Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and NPP Parliamentary Candidates.
During the door-to-door campaign, the volunteers shared the NPP’s vision for Ghana with the residents and assured them that Nana Addo and Lawyer Y.B. Asamoah are competent and committed to bring economic development and prosperity within the reach of every Ghanaian.
The residents lamented the economic hardships they suffered as a result of the mismanagement of the economy by the NDC government. High electricity bills, high cost of education, and lack of access to credit facilities for small businesses, ranked high among their concerns.
As part of the voter education exercise, the volunteers illustrated the correct way of voting to first-time voters. They also encouraged migrant workers to transfer their voters to Adentan to ensure that they will be able to exercise their franchise on election day.
The Patriotic Youth Movement presented T-shirts, posters, flags and stickers to support campaign activities in the Adentan Constituency. Lawyer Y.B. Asamoah, together with the Adentan NPP constituency executives expressed their sincere appreciation to the group. Ms. Yaa Gyamera Aboagye, President of Patriotic Youth Movement assured Lawyer Asamoah of the group’s unwavering support. She also called on the youth to be actively involved in the campaign to win power for the New Patriotic Party in the December 7, 2016 elections.
