The Greater Accra Regional Police has arrested five people in connection with the murder of the NPP Member Of Parliament for Abuakwa North, Joseph Boakye Dankwah Adu. The suspects include two females and three males. Briefing the media, the Regional Public Relations Officer, ASP Afia Tenge noted that the Police received a distress call around 1:25 am about the incidence and rushed to the scene but found the body of the MP in a pool of blood. He was rushed to the police hospital and was pronounced dead on arrival.
Preliminary investigations showed that the MP suffered multiple stabbed wounds from the attacker. Currently a Police investigation team has been constituted and are at the residence of Hon. Dankwah Adu gathering any evidence in connection with the murder.
The residence of the MP has been condoned off to prevent anything that will hinder investigations into the murder. The police are appealing to the general public to contact the police should anyone have information on the incident. The police can be reached on 0242337477/ 0208166148
