PPP Begins Regional Campaign Tour

The Progressive People’s Party has begun its nationwide tour of the Ten Regions of Ghana dubbed “Awake And Vote For Change”, today, 15/04/16.
The Campaign will commence from The Ashanti Region, The Region believed to be the stronghold of The New Patriotic Party, NPP. The tour, to be led by Dr. Papa Kwasi Ndoum, the founder and leader, of the relatively young party, will then move to the Brong Ahafo Region on April 17, and continue to the three Northern Regions of Ghana.
The National tour, will be used to introduce The National Parliamentary Campaign Team to The Constituencies and the polling stations. The tour will also assess the preparation of Regional and Local Executives, towards the November 7, elections.
The statement issued in Accra and signed by The National Secretary, Murtala Mohammed, said, The National Executives together with Regional Executives will also Meet The Chiefs And Opinion Leaders of the selected Constituencies, in close door discussions on matters of mutual concern.
“The Party will also engage the media, on various platforms regarding important issues affecting the local people, in the area. The tour will give us the opportunity to make our case directly to the people in the small Community group meetings, on Local Radio Stations, and at places of work”. The PPP will make a special effort to talk to the youth, and students during this tour and encourage them to think about their future, by supporting the PPP, the statement added.
The Party, however, accused the ruling National Democratic Congress of broken promises, a high unemployment rate, abject poverty and illiteracy. “Many more are afraid of what will happen after the 2016 election, if the NDC or NPP wins the Presidency. Ghanaians want to protect the peace and stability, we have all sacrificed to establish and so we believe they are ready to vote for PPP, a peace-loving, respectful and purposeful political party. We are working hard to deserve their votes”.
PPP is the third Party to begin a Regional Campaign Tour, ahead of the November polls, after the NPP and the governing party, the NDC.
