President John Dramani Mahama has joined many Ghanaians to express his shock over the death of the Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North, JB Danquah Adu.
The president took to his twitter page to mourn with the family of the departed legislator, who was killed in the early hours of Tuesday by unknown assailants.
“Received news of my friend Hon. J.B. Danquah Adu’s murder with shock. My heart goes out to his siblings, Frank etc, his wife & children.” President Mahama tweeted.
Mr. Joseph Boakye Danquah, was stabbed to death at his residence in Accra.
Briefing the media later in the day, the police regional public relation officer, ASP, Afia Tenge noted that the Police received a distress call around 1:25 AM about the incidence and rushed to the scene but found the body of the MP in a pool of blood.
He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Police Hospital. The Police preliminary investigations revealed that he sustained several injuries suspected to be from multiple stabs.
Meanwhile, Police investigation team has arrested five people in connection with the case and is appealing to the general public to contact them should anyone have any information on the incident. case.
