Some Farmers in The Ashaiman Municipality, are crying foul, following their expulsion from their farm lands, by The Divisional Council.
Until their removal, The Farmers were producing more to contribute, to the food-stock of The Municipality and Ghana at large.
According to The Ashaiman Divisional Council, The Farmers did not seek permission, from The Stool, before embarking on their farming activity, hence their removal.
XYZ News Ibrahim Obeng-Mensah, has been interacting with The Regent of The Municipality, and has report that, arable farm-lands for crop cultivation, within The Ashaiman Municipality, have become scarce, a situation that, has impeded the tireless efforts of farmers, within the Municipality.
That notwithstanding, The Ashaiman Divisional Council has expelled some farmers, from farming on the Irrigation Development Land, within The Municipality.
According to The Regent of Ashaiman, Nii Ananng Adzor, the farmers acted on their own volition in farming on that piece of land, without the knowledge and permission from The Divisional Council hence their expulsion.
The Regent of The Municipality argued that, The Farmers are not registered farmers with The Irrigation Development Authority.
He further challenged them to proof their legitimacy for farming on that land. Nii Adzor, further warned the farmers, to desist from peddling false information, about The Council And The Municipal Assembly.
Responding to questions, he affirmed that, The Divisional Council will re-consider its decision, should the farmers decide to officially seek permission from The Stool.
