Chief Executive Officer of Burniton Music Group, Livingstone Etse Satekla known in the showbiz industry as “Stonebwoy” has jokingly played down the “kakai” threat by fellow dancehall star, Charles Nii Armah Mensah popularly known as Shatta Wale.
“Kakai” is a Ghanaian word synonymous to monster.
The Bhim Nation president was a guest on Radio XYZ’s LET’S GO, hosted by ace broadcaster, Yaw Ampofo Ankrah.
In answering a question by a fan whether he fears Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy replied “Really? Shatta Wale is not any kakai. It’s musically kakai. Or if you look into Shatta’s face, do you see kakai to run away?”
The dancehall genre has been rife with musical rivalry (beefs) since its emergence. There have been attempts to quash the tensions recently as Shatta Wale posted an apology on Facebook to both Stonebwoy and Samini.
Fans of the trio still hope to hear a collaboration song. The “mightlylele” hit maker has revealed that he is opened to a collaboration with Shatta Wale when the time is right.
“Expect it. It’s going to come. Not only Shatta Wale. Samini and I have dropped another one already- party await” Stonebwoy said. “We are only in January. Patience will make it work. I know that these are great artistes that when we work together, it will get the people’s mind blowing. But patient is everything. Once it comes, it will be worth the wait.” He added.
2015 was a total clean out for the Ashaiman born and bred star, who swept away several awards including the BET Best International Act (Africa), the Vodafone Ghana Music Award’s artiste of the year as well as six BASS awards.
