Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy Win 2016 IRAWMA Awards

Dancehall acts Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale were adjudged Most Promising Act and Best African Act respectively at the 2016 International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA)

The duo were awarded at the 35th edition of the IRAWMA held at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts in Fort Lauderdale/Coral Springs, Florida on October 2, 2016.

Stonebwoy won the award over Skip Marley, Franko, and Major MyJah while Shatta Wale also beat Flavour, Wizkid, Koffi Olomide and Maitre Gims to win the award.

The event which was established with the aim to acknowledge and honor the accomplishments and contributions of reggae and world music artistes, including songwriters, performers, promoters and musicians saw a total of 160 nominations.
