The Tema Metropolitan Assembly in partnership with The Metropolitan Director Of Education and Metro Education Oversight Committee has visited some Schools within The Tema Metropolis, as part of activities marking the end of Shift System within the Tema enclave.
According to The Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive Isaac Ashai Odamtteng, said, the completion of the Industrial City Basic Schools made it possible for the realization of this feast.
He stressed that; Tema shall continue to lead in the provision of good infrastructure, Teaching and Learning Materials to enhance academic performance of Pupils in the public schools.
He added that, the assembly is committed to reducing the classroom population to approximately forty, to propel academic performance.
He made the call during his first visit to some selected Basic Schools to commence the opening of this academic year. The affable Metropolitan Chief Executive Isaac Ashai Odamtteng, opined that, he will heave a sigh of relief following the abrupt end of the shift system within the metropolis.
He added that, the menace was one of the main challenges confronting the metropolis hence the bold step to eradicate it .
The Metropolitan Director again argued that, inspite of the relevance of these, interventions; others may see it otherwise.
The Metropolitan Director Of Education Margret Frimpong-Kore, was elated about the eradication of the shift system. According to her, this will trickle down to positively affect academic fortunes of the pupils within The Metro.
