Two Arrested For Robbing SA Chief Justice’s Office

Two men arrested in South Africa over a burglary at the office of Chief Justice Mogoeng Mgoeng have denied involvement in the crime, their Lawyer, Sammy Mahlangu has told reporters.
Given Msimango, 20, and Bigboy Jose, 37, appeared in court on Wednesday but Mr Mahlangu said the charge sheet made no mention of the theft.

Fifteen computers were stolen from the South Affrica Chief Justice’s office on Saturday morning, in a robbery which fuelled speculation that security agents were trying to intimidate judges who had given damning rulings against President Jacob Zuma and his government.

The charges against the suspects according to his Lawyer relate to firearms and no mention was made in the media about any firearms having been stolen at the Chief Justice’s office.

“On this basis they were not linked to the crimes.” Mr Maglangu said adding that a third accused was released without being charged.
