Uganda to receive presidential awards after Ghana clash

Ghana’s World Cup opponents, Uganda Cranes players and support staff, will be honoured by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Saturday after Friday’s encounter in Tamale.

The awardees will be honoured during the country’s Independence Day celebrations on the 9th October 2016 at Luuka District Headquarters.

According to the FUFA Communications head, Ahmed Hussein, the federation has already received the letter of invitation.

“We are in receipt of the invitation dated 30th September, 2016 signed off by Chancellor/Secretary, Presidential Awards Committee Businge S.T. Amooti which has a list of people to be honoured and was addressed to the Executive Director of Federation of Uganda Football Association.

“The lists of people to be honoured are 28 players, members of the technical staff. Even the deceased will be honoured for their contribution. These are Abby Dhaira, Fred Lukwago and Amir Kalanzi”, he added.
