Unpaid Junior Nurses at Yendi Hospital Declare Strike

Junior Nursing Staff of the Yendi Government Hospital in the Northern Region have threatened to lay down their tools with effect from March 15, 2016.

The aggrieved nurses say their latest action is in protest over their unpaid accrued salary arrears which in outstanding of 10 months.

In a signed release by the leadership of the group, they served notice to the ministry of Finance, Ministry of Labour and employment, ministry of Health, Ghana health service, Northern regional health directory, Yendi municipal coordinating council, The MCE Yendi ,MP for Yendi, Chiefs and Opinion Leaders to treat their threat as urgent and meet their demand or provide a very Convincing assurance that the monies will be paid into their accounts or risk being faced with the strike action.

STRIKE TO HIT YENDI MUNICIPAL HOSPITAL OVER JUNIOR NURSES UNPAID SALARY ARREARS.

The Junior nursing staff of Yendi Municipal hospital will be Embarking on a Crucial Sit down Strike by 15th march ,2016 to protest against their 8 to 10month Unpaid Salary arrears since April 2014 .

The group came to this conclusion in a meeting organized with it Leaders and stakeholders of the Facility after several appeal to Government and the concern parties Involve in this Business proved fatal.

We are therefore here served Notice to the ministry of Finance , Ministry of Labour and employment, ministry of Health , Ghana health service , Northern regional health directory , Yendi municipal coordinating council , The MCE Yendi ,Mp Yendi, Chiefs and Opinion Leaders to treat this as agent to meet our demand with providing a very Convincing assurance that the monies will be drop in our account or we advise ourselves.

Considering Yendi Municipal hospital as a referral point from the Eastern corridor belt in Ghana and the Neighboring countries as well which is valuable Facility in west Africa and the Risk involve in health delivery in such a facility ,

We are therefore telling Government to Listen to our plight or after the 15th March sit down strike if we don’t hear anything Convincing we shall total withdraw our services in that coming days and shall not go back to work until we see the monies been droped in our Accounts. Thank you.
