Updates: 2016 Mcdan Open Day 1 Recap And Day 2 Preview

First day of the Mcdan Open West Africa Championship saw former champion Jeff Bagerbaseh made it through without problems, dominated in his opening match, defeating Clement Nakwi Alisi 6-0, 6-3.

There were not any upset on this first day as Isaac Titriku and Isaac Dapaah were pushed deep into a third set by Francis Gbolonyo and Francis Akpese. Titriku and Dapaah need to step up their level of play if they want to make a big run as the tournament progresses.

Other seeds that have advance to the next round, Emmanuel Plange, the 2015 National ranking tour winner (tour 5), beats George Nyarko by a score of 6-1,6-2. Bernard Armah , seeded 4th, won his opening match
No.1 seed Wisdom Na-Adjrago, made it through to next round, defeating Ahmed Quartey 6-1, 6-1. Eric Tetteh Nartey also won his first match in straight sets.

The rest of matches that were scheduled for Day 1 moved to Day 2, such as matches featuring No.2 seed Benjamin Fumi, Michael Moses from Nigeria, Daniel Quartey and Togolese Bernard Alipoe.
