The Vector and Pest Control Unit of Ghana’s Waste Management Ziant, Zoomlion Ghana Limited, has embarked on fumigation exercise as part of measures to mitigate the growing infestation of mosquitoes, at the Ashaiman Polyclinic.
Lately, the facility has been battling with fierce mosquito bites especially at nights impeding quality medical care.
According to The Tema Regional Vector Officer, at Zoomlion Ghana Limited, Enock Mintah, said, the exercise forms part of its core mandate of ensuring the facility is freed from pests, insecticides and other life threatening reptiles.
He stressed that, every fortnight, The Unit often carry out the exercise to control the excessive breeding of the causative agent of malaria.
Speaking to radioxyzonlie.com, he denied assertion that Zoomlion, has shirked its responsibility of sanitising the The Polyclinic.
He lamented that, the chemicals used to fumigate the area, has a minimal effect on human life hence the need to be considerate with the number of times its embarks on the exercise.
That notwithstanding, he reckoned that, the growing population of The Ashaiman Municipality, have not had a toll on its work with regards to cleaning and fumigating gutters within the area.
For their part, a Team of Management led by The Head of Administration and Support Services at The Ashaiman Polyclinic Nurudeen Issaka Iddrisu, was thankful to Zoomlion Ghana Limited for their intervention.
He again entreated Zoomlion to be constant with its fumigation exercise around the facility to help in their quest of quality healthcare delivery.
